Hiyie! I wore this when I went to Tagaytay with my sibs and cousins last January 20, 2013. We were enjoying ate Brend's stay so on her last two days here in MNL, we decided to treat her a weekend getaway. I love Tagaytay's weather. Who wouldn't love a lower degree of temperature, right? It's so relaxing and calming. It also serves as the easiest escape from the hustle and bustle in the Metro.
Anyhow, the dress was my mother's Christmas gift. I was a bit hesitant to wear it before because I somewhat fear the stripes design. Why? Because it has an illusion that makes me look fatter (I am already fat and I can't take any extra weight look! lol) but I guess I was wrong. It looked so nice that I even appeared to be a Ms. Good Girl. Haha! We arrived at Tags pretty much late so we just visited a Church nearby then had our dinner at Leslie's. Of course, we ate the very famous Bulalo, Crispy Pata, and Pork Sisig! Another diet night ruined but it was never regretful when you get to enjoy moments with family.
How do I look? ;)

Hello! Giving everyone an update here on my blog! This was my outfit last Sunday when we attended mass at The Holy Family Parish near our place. I'm loving the gloomy weather here in MNL that is why I can confidently wear long sleeves without thinking of the awkwardness in sweating much because of the heat. The denim polo was a Christmas gift from my very generous brother, Benj. I matched it with my black leggings and added a bright colored shoes to make the total look catchy.
Wonder why this blog entry was entitled with such? Let me share to you this very captivating story. This happened on the same day I wore this outfit. Me and my friend, Lia, came in late at the Church so we were searching for available seats where we could stay during the entire Eucharistic celebration. I can still remember what I said to her the moment I found free seats, "Dun tayo tumabi sa naka-stripes na lady mukhang maluwang yung seats!" So calmly, we went there and listened to the homily of the priest. After the homily, as I stood up to honor the gospel, I figured out that the "naka-stripes na lady" right beside me was a lady whom I've had past issues with. I was shocked and amazed at the same time. Maybe, I now believe in the saying "It's a small world after all." Of all the places in the Metro, why would we even meet at a Church? Why would we even seat together in that specific place? Then with a strange voice in my mind, God answered my questions. Everything was according to His plan and I don't need to further digest about it. He made us see each other at the right time, at the right place. He intended to use His celebration for us to hold hands and greet each other a peace smile. Indeed, there was sincerity and pureness in our hearts. It was all planned by God and we trusted His will. He wanted us to reconcile, forget the past, and start a new life. A new life that will soon flourish to a good friendship. Perhaps, this is all coming too fast but sure enough, this is where He wants us to be. There is a big reason for this...
And so, we became friends.
Happy girls.

Here are some of our retreat photos last January 11-13, 2013 at Caleruega Retreat Center. I intended to omit narrating the story of every photo just to give way to the things I learned from that 3-day retreat. Indeed, I learned a lot of things. Things about life and love. We had great speakers and Fr. Allen De Guzman was my favorite. He was just so well in making me realize everything I've done wrong. He was very verbose, not in a negative way but to the extent of giving us words and statements which can actually be stated in our Facebook statuses or Tweets on Twitter. Yes, his words were so powerful that I wanted to quote it. That's why I managed to jot down notes of the lessons I learned.
Allow me to share it all to you.
1. I CAN BE BETTER THAN THIS. I learned that no one should ever settle for mediocrity.
2. I will be a better me starting today. Always be a better you each day.
3. We are a product of a series of experiences. Experiences make us who we are now.
4. SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY LIFE. Mantra.
5. We are a product of the choices we have made. Our choices reflect on who we are as a person.
6. Old ways is what will kill you. Stop doing the things that will make regret in the future.
7. Your parents love you so much that they sacrifice everything just for you but you just give it away to someone else. That's the reason why they are so "makulit" because when you're in pain, they feel it, they know exactly what's best for you. Remember that all persons will leave you except your mom and dad. ---This one's my favorite. Really.
8. Life is not a buffet where we get to experience everything. We don't have a life for that. Life is a buffet, and He is the master chef. Ask Him.
9. We stop believing because of pain. This pain is from our wrong choices, addictions, and frustrations.
10. We are where we are now because it's where God wants us to be.
11. The formula of happiness is simple: HAPPINESS = GOOD MEMORIES + GOOD CHOICES + WISDOM + PRAYER
So there. That's just a part of the lessons they imparted us. I hope you guys learn from it like I did! :)
